 2005 Ranger Z21

1983 Gregor

1983 16'8" Gregor. Parked in a proteted area since 1997 and not used until 2 months ago for testing. Register until 2011, (Lake County Quagga Stickers for Lake County buyers). I'm selling this boat for exactly what I have in to it. $3,700. I'm selling it because I'm quadriplegic and wanted something I could take to other lakes easier than my pontoon. However, after the purchase, I realized getting in and out was an insurmountable task. This boat should give anyone years of excellent service.

  • 1. I threw away the old 20 ft lb. trolling motor and mounted a 55 ft. lb. Minn Kota Powerdrive with two new 12 volt batteries. I put a brand new 2 bank charger on them. I welded a 5/8 metal plate to the deck to mount the trolling motor. The trolling motor operates by a foot pedal with an 18 foot cord or a wrist remote. I had the trolling motor apart last year and found the brushes to be in very good shape. The trolling motor has a quick release plate so it's easily removed from the boat for security.
  • 2. I put two new starting batteries in and mounted a Perko switch so one battery will be able to give you another chance should one run low. They can be charged by the generator on the engine.
  • 3. I replaced some flooring that was soft because of a roof leak in the shelter it was under and replaced the flooring under each seat. I used 1/2 inch pressure treat plywood.
  • 4. I installed 3 new seats, one driver seat and two fishing seats. I removed all rusty bolts in the trailer which really didn't need replacing and replaced them with new stainless steel bolts.
  • 5. I mounted a fire extinguisher to the console which is on the right side.
  • 6. I replaced and checked all switches and hoses for the starting system, bilge pump and live well pump and assured they are in working order.
  • 7. I installed a brand new submersible light, trailer light system.
  • 8. I Installed a new stern light system.
  • 9. I wired in a brand new kill switch where there was no kill switch.
  • 10. I checked the compression on this 70 hp Mercury outboard and found it to be in near new condition with compression of 140 spot on in each hole. Steve from S&K Auto in Lakeport. He stated the motor is easily worth $2500. He also inspected all the seals.
  • 11. The motor starts without any effort.
  • 12. It has two 6 gallon gas tanks.
  • 13. I buffed the outside
  • 14. The live well is quite large at about 14 x 36 and self fills. You can prevent it from filling with a plug.
  • 15. It has a stainless steel prop in great condition with an extra prop.
  • 16. I replaced the rims with aluminum sport rims.

The boat is turnkey. Pack up your rods, reels, tackle and PFD and you are ready to go.  If you have any other questions, contact Ed at Tackle It, 707-262-1233.
