Multi Species News (Catfish on Clear Lake)

Well the catfish are starting to go looks like a nother good year for the whisker critters.  Targeting these fish is easy, a night crawler, chicken liver, cut shad or any fish really placed on a sliding sinker rig will get theses fish going.  The key is the sliding sinker rig, this is really a simple egg sinker with the line through it so when the fish pulls the bait it does not feel the weight.  This set up is great for Clear Lake.  Many people use a variation of this for the delta but remember you dont have current so this rig presents the bait best.  Another thing you don't have to use to much weight again no current, the weight here is more for getting the bait out aas far as you want.  Good Luck to all the Fishermen this week who will be visiting Clear Lake for the annual Catfish Derby.  Stop in see Ted he is stocked well for all your catfish needs.
